IHHS BLM

Black Lives Matter

To Our Community,

The International Hyperhidrosis Society condemns the actions of the killers of George Floyd, as well as all those involved in the deaths of Ahmaud Abert, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, Philando Castile, Sandra Bland, Freddie Gray, Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Rodney King, and the many others who have lost their lives and experienced great harm as part of the suffering inflicted upon Black and other allies of color over generations upon generations around the world.

We also firmly condemn the daily, race-based systemic violence and injustices that members of communities of color face from pre-birth onward. Indeed we hold that hatred, prejudice and racism can be blamed for harmful inequalities around the globe. This represents a public health emergency and we join with others as we call for equality of care, justice and opportunity.

IHhS stands with protestors all over the world who are peacefully demanding accountability for police brutality and systems that perpetuate unfair advantages for some and profound disadvantages for many. We are with you in acknowledging and striving to dismantle both overt and subtle racist ideologies and policies so we can build societies where all can thrive.

Share your Hh story through the StoryCorps Archive

Want to help honor Hyperhidrosis Awareness Month: Share your hyperhidrosis story through the StoryCorps Archive or share your support through listening.

Help trailblazers Gale & Katie and Elle & David end the silence and stigma by supporting hyperhidrosis stories in the StoryCorps Archive.

Research shows that for healthcare professionals, time pressures, a perceived lack of treatments, and costs often get in the way of candid hyperhidrosis conversations. But for sufferers and loved ones, it seems like it's often unawareness, hopelessness, fear, embarrassment, or past bad experiences that propagate silence.

It doesn't have to be this way. Listen. Record. Share.
