Something to Smooth on Your Skin or Pop in Your Mouth? New Meds You Haven’t Heard About (Yet) Could Change Everything

Scientists are working for you. Right now. Really. There are new treatments in the works with great potential for people with hyperhidrosis. And they might just change everything. Here’s what you need to know.

The State of Sweat in the Netherlands

My name is Thijs. I am the founder of The Dutch Hyperhidrosis Society and I’m excited to share my thoughts and a Dutch perspective on hyperhidrosis with you. Read on…

National survey shows that nearly 1 in 5 teens suffers from excessive sweating

Hyperhidrosis is common and impactful among teens according to International Hyperhidrosis Society research presented at the recent American Academy of Dermatology’s Annual Meeting. In fact, 17% of teens say they experience excessive, uncontrollable sweating – that’s nearly 1 in 5 teens and SEVEN TIMES MORE than previous estimates, which put the number at just 1.6% to 2.1%! Find out the details…

The Year Hyperhidrosis Went Mainstream

We may look back and say 2016 was the year we all realized just how common hyperhidrosis and multifocal hyperhidrosis really is!

This was also the year we realized how many kids are struggling with excessive sweating, and, sadly, how easy it still is for major TV personalities, politicians, and even household-name companies to stereotype, insult, and shame anyone who “sweats too much.”

We’re fighting back with awareness-building initiatives (like the video to the left), improved clinical trial access, and quality research. Information is power! Get it here with highlights from the International Hyperhidrosis Society’s eye-opening research just published in Dermatologic Surgery, a peer-reviewed journal.

Research: Hyperhidrosis More Common, Severe, and Socially Crippling than Scientists Realized

A new study shows that excessive sweating is more prevalent, severe, and socially debilitating than previously reported. From embarrassment to anxiety, 15.3 million Americans (4.8%) are struggling with severe sweating, say the researchers. Now more than ever – education, research and advocacy (the work we do) can make the life-changing difference.
