It's Growing Season for Hyperhidrosis Care: Spring 2009 CMEs
For half of the globe, spring is just around the corner! Of course we love this time of year; longer days, flowers in bud. But the warming temperatures serve to remind us of the year-round burdens and self-consciousness for people with hyperhidrosis…like having to wear mountains of clothes on warm days in order to hide excessive sweat stains or forgoing those cool sandals for bulky sneakers to hide sweaty feet.
Our one-day seminar, "Hyperhidrosis: A Practical Approach for Optimized Results" will be held in Frisco (North Dallas), Texas on Saturday, April 4 and in Falls Church, Virginia on Saturday, May 16. The cost of registration is $165; physician staff can attend at no extra cost. And if you are a dermatologist or healthcare provider licensed to practice in the Texas or Virginia, don't miss this unique opportunity to treat and train live. Whether you attend as an injector/trainee or as a learner/observer, this session will add grace to the way you care for your hyperhidrosis patients. Don't delay--these sessions sell out every year. Register here!
We pack a punch into these sessions: For one full day, the International Hyperhidrosis Society will hold intensive physician training with the world leaders in hyperhidrosis management. The focus will be on the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of hyperhidrosis. Physicians will learn the latest treatment techniques, with special attention given to the effective use of Botox injections for a variety of body areas.
We're so fortunate to have with us again IHHS board member and the current President-elect of the American Academy of Dermatology, David M. Pariser, MD as well as fellow IHHS founding board member Dee Anna Glaser, MD. Without hyperbole, these are two of the finest dermatologists in the field, both with vast years and experience in treating patients with hyperhidrosis.
The structure of these sessions will be a lecture and discussion segment in the morning that is focused on hyperhidrosis basics, including topical therapies, iontophoresis therapy, Botox treatments of axillary and non axillary hyperhidrosis, and incorporating office staff into patient treatment and management.
In the afternoon, local physicians, alongside members of the expert panel, will provide hyperhidrosis treatment with Botox or iontophoresis, as necessary, to their patient volunteers. The demonstrations will be done in small group settings in order to foster optimal learning.
Participation in this CME program, which is jointly sponsored by the Saint Louis School of Medicine and the International Hyperhidrosis Society, is worth 5.5 AMA PRA Category 1 credits. We've also negotiated outstanding room rates at both The Westin Stonebriar Resort in Frisco, Texas and The Westin in Falls Church, Virginia. Be sure to mention the International Hyperhidrosis Society when making your reservation so that you get the discounted group rate.
This is a great opportunity for physicians and medical professionals to expand their knowledge and expertise in administering Botox injections to their patients with excessive sweating in a very short amount of time. Learning the ropes is pretty straightforward, and the rewards are immense.
Dr. Pariser put it perfectly in a recent article in Dermatology Times (Jan. 2009): "Treatment of patients with hyperhidrosis is easily learned, can be easily integrated into routine practice, can be performed by physician assistants, is economically viable, and significantly improves the quality of life of the patient."
He continues, "Treating hyperhidrosis leads to a greater improvement of a patient's quality of life than treatment of any other dermatologic disorder."
Join us. Just fill out the registration form and indicate whether you would like to attend as an "injector/trainee" or as an "observer/attendee". We'll immediately follow-up with further information and confirmation.
With support and community participation, we hope to conduct these kinds of CME seminars every spring in cities all over the world, eventually sowing enough seeds to grow an outstanding network of experts to treat hyperhidrosis sufferers in every community.
